  • Barnum Cafè in Rome is a vibrant and popular spot that absolutely lives up to the hype, especially when it comes to the food. The meal was truly wonderful and flavorful. The menu offers a fantastic mix of Italian classics and more inventive dishes, all executed with care and fresh ingredients. Whether it was a perfectly al dente pasta, a crisp salad, or a rich dessert, every bite was a pleasure. The quality and taste clearly stand out. A key piece of advice: plan to arrive early or be patient. The café's excellent reputation means it's often bustling. It's common to face a wait time of 20 to 30 minutes for a table, especially during peak lunch hours or the evening aperitivo period. Consider this wait part of the experience—it's a sign of a place loved by both locals and visitors. Once you're inside, the atmosphere is energetic and stylish. It’s the perfect place to refuel after sightseeing or to soak up the Roman café culture. In short: Barnum Cafè is well worth a visit for its delicious, top-quality food. Just be sure to factor in the potential wait—your taste buds will thank you for it!

  • It was amazing! Best breakfast in four days we spent in Rome! Great service, great food! Our server(outside) was wonderful! I saw how other customers asked her everything all the time (really a lot of extra stuff that wasn’t on menu) and she made her best to give them good service! Great job! Definitely will be back!

  • Lived 2 mins away and been here every morning before I start my journey. All the pastries except pistachio croissant is amazing. Chef kiss The smoked salmon here is cured by them in house. So gooooood!

  • Absolutely loved Barnum, we came 3 times. We loved that they had oatmilk and then allergens listed on the menu. Ordered dine in and take out one day and both were easy. If you’re arriving before maybe 9:30 I think a table will be a short wait but they might pick up— everything was fast and I definitely would wait (or just order from the counter to go!). The croissants were some of the best I’ve ever had, the lamination and layers were insane and perfect and they were so buttery. We would get oatmilk lattes, we got bacon/eggs/hash browns one day, pain au chocolate, lemon curd croissant, and plain croissant. The service is super nice and attentive too. You pay at the counter after eating. There are lots of seating options but you must wait to be shown to your seat.

  • Barnum is a lovely breakfast and brunch spot along Via del Pellegrino that is open from 8am to 3.30pm daily. We went by a few times during a recent stay in the Campo de Fiori area, finding long queues outside. Managed to do a nice breakfast here around 8.15am during one morning. We were seated immediately within a fairly full place, there was a queue forming outside by the time we were finished. During our breakfast we were served a very good avocado on toast with egg and smoked salmon as well as a classic breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and toast. Both were fair serving size, made up of quality ingredients and tasted really good, as did the coffees served on the morning. Prices reasonable and service very friendly and timely. Overall, this was a great western breakfast, one we'd gladly return to enjoy again.

  • I came here specifically to get a break from days of pasta and pizza, and it was the perfect choice. The drip coffee was a welcome surprise—complex and flavorful specialty coffee, which is a nice change of pace from standard dark espresso. The food was fantastic. The Kouign-amann was perfectly executed (crispy but not too sweet), and the mixed juice with the Avocado Hummus Toast was unexpectedly delicious; I would have been happy ordering just that! We also tried the egg plate. While the fried cheese didn't add much flavor, the hash browns were incredible. They are a battered, herbed potato mix fried to perfection, almost like a Japanese or Kimchi pancake. I will definitely be back!

  • Cute little cafe at the heart of Roma serving delicious coffee, pastries and food. The Italians and their espresso, what can I say? The espresso-based coffee was carefully brewed to perfection and their house bean was well balanced. We ordered V60 and were disappointed by the result, not sure if the coffee was over extracted or the temperature was too hot. The food and pastries were delicious. And the service and atmosphere were lovely.
